1. Daily Cleaning and Disinfection

  - All grooming areas, including tables, tubs, and tools, are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each grooming session.

  - Floors and work surfaces are cleaned and sanitized regularly throughout the day to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.

  - High-traffic areas such as reception desks, waiting areas, and door handles are sanitized multiple times daily.

2. Tool and Equipment Sanitation

  - Grooming tools (clippers, scissors, brushes, combs, etc.) are cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized between each use to prevent cross-contamination between pets.

  - Towels, aprons, and grooming smocks are laundered after each use. Clean towels and linens are used for every pet.

  - Clippers, blades, and other handheld tools are disinfected after each use with veterinary-grade disinfectants.

3. Bathing Protocol

  - All bath tubs are cleaned and disinfected between each pet. Bathing tools, such as brushes, are thoroughly sanitized or replaced after each use.

  - Shampoos, conditioners, and other bathing products are stored in clean, sanitary containers and are applied using clean hands or tools.

4. Waste Management

  - Pet hair, nail clippings, and other debris are promptly removed and disposed of in designated waste containers to maintain a clean workspace.

  - Waste bins are regularly emptied and sanitized to prevent odor and contamination.

5. Hand Hygiene

  - All staff members are required to wash and sanitize their hands thoroughly between handling each pet and after cleaning tasks.

  - Gloves are used when appropriate (e.g., handling pets with skin conditions or when applying medicated treatments).

6. Infection Control

  - Any pet showing signs of illness or infection (e.g., skin issues, fleas, or contagious conditions) is groomed in a separate, sanitized area to prevent the spread of disease.

  - Staff members are trained to recognize potential health concerns and to take appropriate action, including isolating affected pets and contacting their owners.

7. Sanitation Training

  - All staff members receive training in proper sanitation practices and are expected to follow all cleaning and disinfection protocols.

  - Regular audits of sanitation procedures are conducted to ensure compliance with established standards.

8. Client and Pet Safety

  - We request that all pets are up to date on vaccinations before their grooming appointment to ensure the safety of all animals in our care.

  - We encourage clients to notify us of any health concerns or sensitivities their pet may have prior to the appointment.
